Being into "Ham" radio and licensed as an amature radio operator, one
of my annual haunts is the Dayton Hamvention
in May every year. It's an unusual activity full of new and old
electronic stuff. A full day is needed to briskly cruise through
it. Most Electronic firms have their CEO's and exec's there to
answer questions. A very large portion of the show is dedicated
to computer paraphernalia at very reasonable prices. This is a
worldwide event, and in order to stay within 100 miles of it, one must
usually book a room a year in advance. While in the area,
shopping at Mendlesons, a very large surplus store, is in order plus
some fine dining. Many scenic sights such as the Wright-Patterson
Air Force Museum are also in the area.
